A massive well done to eveyone who passed with Safedrive this week. We have had two passes in Chesterfield with our instructors Neil and Jon. One of the passes in Chesterfield was our very own Ella in the office. Sally in Sheffield also had two passes and Richard in Hereford had a pass. So well done to both the pupils and the instructors for all their hard work.

Driving and using your phone
New mobile phone law whilst driving.
Everyone knows, or should know, that using your phone whilst driving is illegal. However it is all too easy to think of doing. You could be stuck in traffic and receive a text or sat at the traffic lights and your phone starts to ring, ever been tempted to have a cheeky look? Well the law changed from the 1st of March about the use of mobile phones whilst you are driving. Here's what you need to know...
If you are caught using your mobile phone whilst driving you can be receiving a £200 fine. Just think what £200 could get you and you'll have to pay that for just one mistake... Not only could you receive that fine but you could also end up with 6 penalty points on your licence.
It takes 12 points on your licence to have your licence taken from you depending on the situation. So all you need is to be caught twice on your phone whilst driving and you'll ended up in total paying out £400 in fines and then also losing your licence.
Just think when you're behind the wheel, do you really want to risk it? I hope the answer is no! If you need to take a phone call just safely pull up to the side of the road when possible or just don't take the call. If you need to send a message, just wait till the car engine is turned off. Last of all instead of constantly touching your phone to change the song maybe just put a playlist on of your choice before setting off.
